SPP 450

Author: Richard Rose

Description: The New Russia Barometer (NRB) monitors the response of Russians to the political and economic transformation of their society. Nationwide sample surveys commenced in January, 1992, the first month of the new Russian Federation. Seventeen NRB surveys provide trend data about political, economic and social conditions during and after transformation on topics such as support for the political regime and undemocratic alternatives, being paid or not by employers, economic expectations and expectations of the future. This SPP paper reports trend data from the first NRB survey to the most recent complete after the presidential election of March, 2008.
